Objectives of CRL
  • This laboratory will give detailed insight into the growth and spread of cancer cells which is essential for developing future tests and drugs.
  • Will facilitate initial identification of drugs that have anticancer therapeutic potential using in vitro methods.
  • The potency of the anti-cancer agents will be further confirmed on approved animal models by in vivo methods.
  • Selected chemical compounds will be exposed on specific genes and/or cell-lines under different conditions and doses to explore their possible potential as cancer drugs.
  • The traditional medicinal plants will be tested on cancer cells to understand their therapeutic potential.

  • Cancer Epidemiology in Nagaland Pharmacokinetic study of newly synthesized drugs
  • Drug delivery study on different types of cancer cells
  • Cancer Drug development for cancer with the use of traditional medicines practiced in Nagaland
  • Development of biomarkers for early detection of Cancer.
Common Cancer Incidence in Nagaland
  • Oesophagal cancer is very high
  • Colorectal cancer is also very high
  • Lung cancer is also very high
  • Mortality rate due to Cancer is very high in Nagaland.
